Broadline incentive tourism and event marketing agency became the first Baltic company in its field to receive the ISO 9001:2000 quality certificate in December 2007. The agency received the certificate in the category of tourism, event marketing and promotion.
Necessity of the certification
”The rapid development of the organization, expansion to other markets and enlargement of the range of services brought about the need to look for a management tool that would help us develop and standardize the quality of service and increase our performance,” said member of the Broadline management board Mr Neeme Kari in commenting on the factors that led the company to seek certification.
Mr Kari noted that even though the ISO quality certificate has traditionally been associated with the manufacturing sector and standardization of the quality of output, in recent years, ISO rules have been changed, allowing the standards to be implemented for certifying the quality of service providers as well.
ISO as an everyday tool
”ISO is often unfairly associated with adding excessive bureaucracy and making everyday work more difficult. But it’s actually an instrument that allow the process of project management and administration to be greatly simplified. I can say definitively from my part that our experience to this point has been very positive,” noted Mr Janek Reimal, member of the agency’s management board.
Certification process
”While it’s true that implementation of the certificate was a big challenge, the long-term benefits will certainly be worth the effort,” Reimal added. According to Mr Reimal, the implementation of the ISO quality management programme will give Broadline an advantage when it comes to offering stable and high quality of service in the fields of event marketing, promotion and tourism in all of the Baltic States.
The company embarked on the quality management programme in May 2007, and certification took place at the end of the year. Broadline used assistance from the consultation firm Funding to prepare and implement the ISO quality management programme. The certifying authority was the internationally recognized Bureau Veritas.
