Lithuania is a Baltic country with nearly eight hundred years of statehood tradition.

In Lithuania music is a truly universal language. The first opera performances in Lithuania were staged in early 17th century, just 20 years after the genre was born. Finest opera singers, masterful dancers, forceful direction and original stage design create truly memorable performances. By visiting Lithuania's exhibitions and galleries, you will be surprised how versatile a contemporary Lithuanian art is.

Food is one of the true joys of life. The largest cities feature many of the world's finest cuisines. Up to the present days the millennium-old and turbulent history of Lithuania has preserved its extremely diverse heritage. Therefore, the country was the first among the Baltic States to join the Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage in 1992. For nearly ten years Lithuania has continusly introduced new and new areas of its rich heritage.
